I know the Windoze fanboys and girls out there have an obvious answer to this: “Because the Mac sucks!”. Hmm. Well thanks for playing. Now seriously. Apple have a 5% market share. So, that’s around 300 million machines or some other ridiculously huge number. To any other business out there, that’s a big marketplace but for some reason many hardware manufacturers, particularly makers of keyboards and other input devices don’t feel the need to support the Mac.
I have a Logitech G15 gaming keyboard for example. It’s an awesome piece of kit – fully programmable, integrated LCD, backlit keys etc etc, but Logitech don’t feel the need to ship out Mac drivers for it. So while the keyboard is a good all round keyboard to use on a Mac, I don’t get to use the integrated display or any of the other really nifty features unless I boot into Windows. Come on boys – write some damn drivers already!
Another weirdness I’ve noticed lately is that many keyboard manufacturers have started to ship out Apple keyboards with Apple logo in place of the Windows key, and obviously with that key to the right of Alt. Here’s a thought. Why not save costs and ship one keyboard with replacement keys for Apple users and a method of switching the keyboard layout from Mac to Windows (DIP switches work great for this).

I found it very useful. Thanks for the knowledge. I am personally trying to follow the advice & try to be independent.
